NEUTERING Fishguard Vets advises neutering your pet unless you want to breed from them. Neutering your pet (or castration for the boys and spaying for the girls) helps to stop unwanted litters, reduces the likelihood of certain diseases and cancers, helps reduce territorial marking and helps reduce certain kinds of aggression. We think it’s worthwhile as it makes your pet easier to look after and helps reduce unwanted behaviours. Most cats are neutered from 6 months of age and bitches after their first season with dogs from 6 months but preferably 9-12 months. Ask your vet for more details. Fishguard vets have the facilities and skills to perform all but the most demanding surgeries on your pet. The anaesthetic drugs and monitoring systems that we use are up to date, modern and amongst the safest available. We won’t take unnecessary risks just to save a few pounds. Safest is definitely best. Surgery is routinely performed Monday to Friday, but should your pet need emergency surgery, then rest assured we have the facilities to cope. Surgery Hours: Mon. to Fri. 1.45pm to 2.15pm & 5.00pm to 5.30pm No Appointment Required Sat. 9am to 9.30am
